Corvus Chairman Mike Harcourt inducted into the Order of Canada

RICHMOND, B.C., CANADA —
January 15, 2013 — Corvus Energy is pleased to announce that former B.C. premier Mike Harcourt as an Officer of the Order of Canada, one of the highest distinctions in the country.  In 2011, Mr. Harcourt joined Corvus as Chairman of the Board where he contributes his leadership on sustainability issues and clean technology business leadership.

Harcourt, a former NDP premier, mayor of Vancouver and city councilor, has been heavily involved in sustainable community development initiatives since retiring from politics in 1996. He currently plays a key role at Corvus where he oversees key corporate activities, performance and global expansion of the company.

“Corvus is proud to have our Chairman inducted into the Order of Canada,” said Corvus Energy’s CEO Brent Perry. “His leadership and understanding of the energy storage business are a great asset to our Board.  Mike is due the recognition for his contributions and achievements in civic, legal and sustainability issues, and for promoting spinal cord research.  It is my pleasure and honour to congratulate him publicly on behalf of the company.”

The Order of Canada, one of our country’s highest civilian honours, was established in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year, to recognize a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to community and service to the nation. Over the last 45 years, more than 5,000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.

Orders of Canada are awarded upon the recommendations of an 11-member advisory council, which includes the chief justice of the Supreme Court and the Clerk of the Privy Council.
